At A Glance

On this nine-day adventure, you’ll spend a night in Entebbe before heading off into the African Jungle. Firstly, Kibale Forest National Park – trekking Chimpanzees before a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Experience a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and some wildlife spotting in an open-sided safari vehicle, you may even be lucky enough to see the tree-climbing lions. Off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you’ll hike into the rainforest for a bucket-list Gorilla experience.

Day by day

DAY 1

Entebbe

Welcome to Uganda! On arrival at Entebbe Airport, your driver-guide will meet and transfer you to the No.5 Boutique Hotel, tucked away in the suburbs of Entebbe. Make yourself at home, step out onto your balcony overlooking the gardens, take a dip in the pool or work out in the gym, the day is yours to spend at leisure.

DAY 2

Kibale Forest

Enjoy Breakfast before your scenic journey begins, through the Albertine western Rift Vally, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and a picnic lunch en-route to Primate Lodge, deeply tucked away in the wet tropical forests of Kibale Forest Reserve. Settle in and absorb these amazing surroundings. Enjoy dinner on the terrace and a campfire to end the day.

DAY 3

Kibale Forest

Fuel up with breakfast before heading off with your guide into the tropical rainforest, tracking chimpanzees and spending some quality time watching their daily routine, swinging through trees, playing, running and feeding. Head back to enjoy lunch at the lodge before you explore the Bigodi Swamp on foot to encounter the other 13 species of primates, butterflies and multitudes of birds. After a busy day, enjoy dinner prepared by the chef and watch the crackling fire.

DAY 4

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart after breakfast to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with its wide variety of habitats and wildlife, including four of the Big-5. Stop for a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, spotting hippos, crocodiles, water birds, herds of buffalo and elephants. Continue to Ishasha Wilderness Camp, settle into your canvas tented room overlooking the Ntungwe River. Time permitting, head off on an afternoon game drive, returning for dinner and a crackling fire beside the river.

DAY 5

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you’ll wake up early to explore this untouched landscape in an open safari vehicle on morning and afternoon game drives. Be on the lookout for the park’s tree-climbing lions – lazing in large fig trees – as well as elephants, buffalo and leopard, to name a few. Enjoy al fresco meals in the dining room or on the banks of the river and end the day around a blazing bonfire.

DAY 6

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Breakfast is served and depart Ishasha Wilderness Camp on a road transfer to Buhoma Lodge, nestled inside the gates of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Arriving in the late afternoon, settle into your wooden chalet where the monkeys and birds are your neighbours. Even the gorillas occasionally pop in to visit the lodge. Relax around the central lounge and bar, enjoy multi-course meals and end the day next to the crackling fireplace.

DAY 7

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Wake up to enjoy breakfast before a short road transfer to the headquarters of Bwindi National Park where you’ll meet your local guide and trackers. Get briefed on meeting the gorillas before hiking off into the rainforest with a packed lunch. Spend some quality time watching and learning as the gorillas go about their daily lives. Return to the lodge to freshen up, savour dinner and relax around the campfire, sharing stories of the day’s adventure.

DAY 8

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy breakfast and complimentary massage with the rest of your day at your leisure. For an additional cost, return to the forest for a second gorilla trek, enjoy a forest, village or community walk or a Batwa cultural experience. Enjoy meals at Buhoma Lodge and end the day under the stars beside a glowing log fire.

DAY 9

Depart

After breakfast, depart Buhoma Lodge on a road transfer to Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Entebbe Airport, from where you can continue with your onward travel arrangements.
