Wildlife Safari boasts a team of highly skilled guides. Headed up by safari veteran Andrew Kingori, there’s not much these gentlemen don’t know about the area’s history, geography, people, culture, flora or fauna, plus they’re also experienced drivers, adept at navigating Africa’s rough terrain.

On our overland safaris with your own private guide and vehicle, game viewing is as boundless as the vast savannah plains. When you travel with Wildlife Safari, you get your own safari vehicle and seasoned driver-guide. This ensures guests the ultimate freedom in game viewing: with advice from the safari guru behind the wheel, they decide where, when and how long to explore, avoiding the hindrance of fixed, shared game drives in lodge vehicles.

Each offers Wi-Fi, a modern radio communication system, a first-aid kit, a cool box with bottled water and selection of field guides. Every guest is guaranteed a window seat plus access to the photographic roof hatch for the entire safari.

Our Story

Wildlife Safari was founded by Tom Fernandes in Nairobi, Kenya, going on 50 years ago, and we owe our longevity on this ancient continent to sticking to a simple formula: safety, quality, value and service.

Over the years we’ve built our reputation on creating incredible itineraries for small groups of discerning travellers: people, who, like us, appreciate the majesty of Africa’s wild places, wildlife and wonderful people.

While our global reach has grown to service safari lovers from around the planet, we’ve remained true to our humble African roots: we’re still a family-owned and run business, and we’ve never compromised on what we stand for.

Similarly, we value our independence as an autonomous safari operator, and we ensure that we’re as up-to-date as we are objective by regularly visiting all the destinations we recommend. Despite our many years in the business, we’ve stayed curious about every aspect of safari, and we’re always seeking new experiences for our guests.

Wildlife Safari is now managed by Trevor Fernandes who continues the legacy his father created. Trevor also owns and operates Wildlife Safari Australia, a boutique safari wholesaler located in Perth; is a partner in Southern World, a provider of wide-ranging inbound services across the three major South Pacific destinations, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji; and is an investor in a number of African safari specialist businesses.

An African safari can be enjoyed as a fly-in experience, by immersing in local culture by travelling overland between safari locations, or by combining both into a seamless journey — We do it all.

Our wide range of overland safaris employs our fleet of specially converted, top-quality safari vehicles that are tough enough to cope with the harsh African terrain while still offering important safety and comfort features.

Our team are fully vaccinated against Covid19, and our tour managers and guides are tested before & after every safari.

Our safari & transfer vehicles
• We provide new masks daily.
• We provide large sanitiser bottles in every vehicle and each traveller with a pocket-size bottle.
• We sanitise our vehicles daily using a handheld atomiser.
• We facilitate daily temperature checks.
• We place sanitary bins for all vehicles.

Lodges & hotels
• Staff at all our preferred hotels and lodges are fully vaccinated and observe Covid protocols at all times.
• Sanitisers are available in all rooms/tents & public areas, and all public areas are frequently sanitised.

Flights
• Staff at all our preferred domestic aviation partners are fully vaccinated and observe Covid protocols at all times.
• All local airports follow strict Covid protocols as determined by government health authorities.
